How is it that the things which require the least amount of planning are often the most fruitful? Our July 4th "tail-gate" party was once again a smashing success -- perhaps one of the most effective relational events that the church does every year -- lots of friends, neighbors, new people -- all sitting around for hours getting to know one another -- or even playing a little music together. And the fireworks show at the university down the street was great -- the best grand finale I've ever seen.
