THE SPRING DANCE
I got home from Chicago at 11 p.m. last night, which means I couldn't see what the trees looked like. Then I was back on the road at 8 a.m. this morning to drive Betsy to SFO so she could catch a flight to New Hampshire (There is a small school back there which is among those recruiting her for track). Unfortunately, it was foggy so I still couldn't see the orchards. But on my way back this afternoon it was clear enough to see that -- nope -- spring hadn't arrived while I was in Chicago. BUT it will be here SOON. There are a few almond trees out there which are in bloom -- especially on the westside of the Valley. And the beekeepers have their boxes all in place for the spring dance. So I figure that in another week or two this place will be thoroughly decorated and buzzing with activity.
