• I saw them with my own eyes -- 99¢ each. Payless supermarkets is making reusable cloth grocery bags available on Guam -- just like in the first world. :-) Of all places in the world where recycling needs to be a priority (this IS an island with limited space) we should be leaders rather than dawdlers.
• A chance to apply a little textual criticism -- does this snippet from a 419 email sound like it was written by an American? -- I am Mrs. Rose Johnson, I am 78 years old from U.S.A, and I am suffering from a long time cancer of the Lungs which also affected my brain, from all indication my conditions is really deteriorating. According to my doctors they have advised me that I may not live for the next two months, this is because the cancer stage has gotten to a very bad stage.
• Now that Mormonism has gone mainstream several prominent schools have decided that it is time to start offering classes on the Christian spin-off. Claremont Graduate University in California and Utah State University have both established endowed chairs in Mormon studies. And apparently the University of Wyoming is trying to figure out how to do the same. -- Link

• Alaska Christian College has been granted candidacy status in the accreditation process. This allows the students to access US government financial aid. Their student demographic is very similar to PIBC -- educationally challenged rural and isolated villagers. So I know that this accomplishment will help in a major way. -- Link
• The Danes are accusing IKEA of "cultural imperialism" because the mega-household goods store chain names their "shiniest and comfiest furnishings" with Swedish and Norwegian names. But the names of Danish towns are supposedly assigned to doormats, rugs, and carpets. It could be worse -- the Danes could have been stuck with the toilet brushes and rag bags. IKEA is based in Sweden. -- Link

so, when it comes to the songs we sing in church, what's up with that 13% who sing "other"? are they just confused? or is this evidence of the growing trend of gregorian chants in emerging churches?
