BUSY MORNING FOR OUR PROTECTORS
While I was in the bank this morning police sirens were blaring back and forth in the neighborhood. I looked out the window and saw a blazer-type vehicle whip around the corner, squeeling tires -- just like on television. Close behind him were four police cars. I don't know if they ever caught the driver. But they sure seemed determined.

When I left the bank there was thick black smoke a couple of blocks away and fire engines obviously headed that way. I stopped briefly for a look down the street and saw massive amounts of flame shooting from the attic and roof area of a house.

Some mornings...
