DAY OFF
A beautiful not-a-cloud in the sky morning in Turlock allowed me to get a lot of backyard work done. (It became overcast in the afternoon). The tomatoes and tomatillos have lots of healthy blooms. The apricot tree has too much fruit but it's up so high that I'd have to borrow a major ladder to thin it. The citrus is blooming and keeping the bees happy. One navel orange tree in particular has thousands of blooms -- on dwarf stock! If even half of them set it will require some major staking by fall.

I read some. I'm making good progress in Learning Theology with the Church Fathers by Christopher Hall -- a bit of a primer in patristic theology. I'm also moving slowly through the Selected Writings of St. John Cassian the Roman (no ISBN -- published by St. Paisius Orthodox Women's Monastery).
