DOUG IS FRUSTRATED
Doug Pagitt: "I was once again reminded today there is a significant difference in those who are trying to do a Gen X version of church and those of us who are trying to reach for something new.

"I am amazed at all the people doing the same old evangelical or reformed ministry with an edgy feel and reqally have no sense of reaching for something new in christianity let alone church.

"We really need people willing to step into the future."

I guess I'm not nearly as interested in doing something new as I am in doing something old and classic -- not that innovation is bad or that we shouldn't incorporate new elements. It's just that when innovation drives the car we eventually end up with poor theology in the tank and the church can never settle in enough to actually live as a genuine community of faith.
