HOME FROM TUCSON
(Wednesday) We left Tucson a little before 7 this morning and arrived in Turlock a little before 7 this evening (just in time to go to music practice). It was amazingly smooth sailing the whole way -- through Phoenix, LA, and even Highway 99 up the Valley wasn't TOO congested.

Driving through the desert is refreshing for me. Some people look at it and think "desolation" -- "wasted space" -- but I see beauty, solitude, and a truly unique habitat.
