CHRISTIANS LOOKING FOR THE DOOR IN IRAQ
(Sunday) When the U.S. first invaded Iraq, many, if not most, of my Assyrian neighbors in Turlock were elated. They saw the end of Saddam as an opportunity for the minority Christian community to get back on their feet. But a year later they are less optimistic. The Christians in Iraq are suffering through a new wave of Muslim harassment and many are looking to join their extended families in the U.S. and Australia. See the Christian Science Monitor link. Also see the Washingtom Post story.
