THE CHURCH
Keith Drury has been noodling about what it means to submit to the church. And, what by the way, is the church? See his October 12th and 18th entries. His concept of concentric circles of authority are helpful -- and my thinking is similar. Although, I might be inclined to reverse the the order and start with the church catholic and move inward. (You'll have to look at his October 18th entry to see what I'm talking about). Or perhaps you can think of it as a lens in your glasses, where the center is "ground" by our catholicity and the peripheral portion of the lens is formed by our particular context.

In function, there are no definitive lines between the center the and periphery. You see through the whole lens.
