GREEKS CONSIDERING FEMALE DEACONS
The Greek Orthodox Church of Greece (as opposed to the Greek Orthodox Church in the US) is debating the reintroduction of the female diaconate. Of course, change in the Orthodox world is slow (which is hard for Westerners to understand because we love change for the sake of change) and that means it could be decades or centuries before any actual action takes place. But you have got to start somewhere.

The Coptic Orthodox Church, in the Oriental Orthodox tradition, has already reintroduced a female diaconate.
