Highlight of the day was spotting five manatees grazing on river grass... Drove across central Florida (not terribly exciting -- actually depressing in some parts). Saw quite a few orange groves. I've not seen a one as neatly manicured as the orchards in California. But things are still pretty beat up here from the storms. That may have something to do with it... Got to St Petersburg in time to watch the sun go down over the Gulf. Cool! Collected lots and lots of shells... Bought gas -- $1.92/gal. -- a bargain by California standards.
