MORE ON THIRD PLACES
Terry Mattingly is asking similar questions to what some of you were asking a few weeks ago when I was talking about third places. What about the churches?

Mattingly is commenting on a Sherry Stripling article which says that what modern society lacks is third places. My contention is that we are seeing a major resurgence of third places (the glass is half full--not half empty).

Personally, I'm all for third places -- as long as they don't involve beer or coffee. I love the smell of coffee but the acid does terrible things to my stomach -- and the taste... Well, why? It's unnatural. You have to acquire a taste for it. And beer? I don't even want to go there.
