MONDAY
> Lauralea, Randall's wife, is one of the best story-tellers in the blogosphere.

> We ate at Orchid's Authentic Thai Cuisine (2180 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe, California). Incredible. This unassuming but beautifully designed restaurant is as good as the Thai House in Santa Cruz.

> The Church of England leadership has come up with a creative but harebrained compromise that would allow homosexual clergy to "marry" but they would have to "stay celibate." It's the "marry" part that makes no sense to anyone who has any kind of theology of marriage. And it is most certainly inconsistent with the concept of marriage expressed in the Book of Common Prayer.

Pastor Jeff Black and St Barnabas the Encourager Evangelical Covenant Church are the subject of an article today on the GetReligion blog.

> On the way to South Lake Tahoe we stopped for a few hours in the funky tourist trap Virginia City, Nevada (How is it that Mark Twain managed to live in so many places during his lifetime? I'm suspecting that there was more than one of him -- perhaps an alien clone or two.). It was fun. And the view coming up out of Reno is spectacular. Of course, it helps to have a beautiful day. Lake Tahoe is crystal clear. The water is quite cold but the outside is perfect for humans on a four day get-away.
