+ I occasionally surf through the random blogs generated off the "next blog" button in the upper right hand corner, on the blogger bar. I'm always surprised at how many non-English and outside-the-US blogs there are out there. The blogosphere transcends cultural and political boundaries.

A British study suggests that if one or both of the parents hold a "masculine" job that increases their chances of having a boy child. If they hold "feminine" jobs then their chances for a girl increase. Why am I so skeptical?

+ Al Kimel, the Episcopal priest who writes the Pontifications blog, has decided. He has resigned his church and is becoming a Roman Catholic.

+ The French are upset with Google's plan to digitize the world's non-English books. If it were other than an American company they'd be happy.

Dan's jeep is running -- after four months and a lot of help from some very generous people.
