Sunday Roundup
WESTWARD, WHOA!
Last evening, Cheryl and I, and a handful of faithful fans from church, went to see Hannah Salafia in the Hickman Charter School's production of Westward, Whoa! They did a great job and I really do enjoy those student productions AT LEAST as much as the pros.
LAWYERS WITHOUT LAWSCHOOL
It's still possible to become an attorney without attending law school.
A TRUE TEXAN SPEAKS
"These hurricanes can be bothersome, but if it wasn't for the hurricanes, the summer heat, and the bugs, everyone would want to live here, and next thing you know Houston would be taken over by commie libs from the North who would turn it into another San Francisco. So even the yellow rose of Texas has a thorn, but the thorn is only meant to scare the fur-nurs." -- Fr John Whiteford
KEN DRYDEN
If we elect a president who has been the partial owner of a MLB team, why shouldn't Canada pick a former NHL star goalie and president of the Toronto Maple Leafs as PM? It fits. Link

NEW SENSORS
A K-State professor is developing a sensor that detects improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from a safe distance. Such sensors could save thousands of military lives and detect suicide bombers before they can reach their targets. The research sounds promising. Link

HE DIDN'T REALIZE
Gene Robinson, the practicing homosexual who was two years ago ordained a bishop in the Episcopal Church USA, says he didn't realize until six months ago that the church wouldn't get over the initial outrage over his election.
There has been a lot of denial in the Episcopal Church. I'd suggest that things actually started to unravel even before Robinson came on the scene -- perhaps with the election of James Pike in 1958.
INTELLIGENT DESIGN
The first case involving intelligent design will be argued tomorrow in a Pennsylvania federal court.
YAHOO-TV
Yahoo wants to lead the way in the televisionization of the Internet. This sounds vaguely familiar, reminiscent of aol about 5 or 6 years ago, when they started talking about their "channels."
I think the domain yawn.com is available.
