Tuesday Roundup

GUAM TODAY
This morning I spoke in chapel and then, after lunch at Wendy's (I threw that in so that you know that things aren't totally different out here) I taught a theology class. I'm really enjoying the students and the opportunities for interaction.

This evening we were invited for dinner with a couple on the college staff -- former Campus Crusade staff who have now been here about 25 years.

Discoveries: ABC (Australian Broadcasting Company) television, CNN Asia, geckos on the outside windows have a distinctive call that can be heard inside the house.

HURRICANE RELIEF
Donations from the 730 churches (125,000 members) in the Evangelical Covenant Church now exceed $1 million.

STEPS TOWARD UNITY?
A senior Ukrainian cardinal said Monday there was little dividing the Catholic and Orthodox Christian faiths and suggested that the pope call a meeting of the world's bishops to discuss the Eastern rite within the Catholic Church.

STRANGE LOOKING...
at first glance -- but probably pretty functional -- "a more natural way of shelving books."

YAHOO & AOL?
Rumors.

PHENOMENA STILL GROWING
Cell phones are changing Africa.

REALITY CHECK
Most of the world is envious of our $3/gallon gasoline.

NO MORE ROLLER KING?
How is it that I missed the news that Roller King is closed -- and has sold off its skates? I went a few times over the past 10 years. Not really my thing -- and apparently not that of too many other people either.

FINDING FAITH AGAIN
Keith Drury article. The more I read him the more I realize just how Wesleyan I am in some of my theology. Keith also has a new article on "beheading Christ" -- how it is impossible to love the head without also loving Christ's body. He is so on the mark.
