DILLARD'S NEW HOME IN THE HILTON
Dillard University in New Orleans was washed out in the hurricane. The historically black university was the hardest hit of the colleges in NOLA. But they are reopening for the spring semester -- operating from the Hilton New Orleans Riverside Hotel.

I'm not surprised. Marvalene Hughes, formerly president of California State University Stanislaus in Turlock, had just started as president at Dillard when the storm hit. She has a knack for pulling people together to accomplish great things. She may be pulling her hair out but I'm convinced that it was providential that she was at Dillard for this crisis.
