SCOFIELD ESV?
Oxford University Press has published a version of the Scofield Study Bible (i.e. dispensationalist) utilizing the English Standard Version Bible. This seems out of character for the ESV -- especially since most of the people behind the ESV are more of the conservative reformed flavor. I wonder why they went that direction. (I'm obviously not a big fan of dispensational theology -- at least as it was articulated by Scofield.)

I'm surprised there are enough Scofeildians to warrant a new translation. Even among dispy's (of which I am of the progressive sort...scandalous...) Scofield is an extremist. Odd indeed.
