Ad eundem
To teach at Yale you have to have a degree from Yale. However, they have a traditional way of upgrading those pathetic professors who studied elsewhere -- an MAH. Harvard and Dartmouth, and some British universities, have similar practices. Link to Wikipedia entry on ad eundem (via)
