Broadband for African universities
Six US foundations are teaming up to boost Internet bandwidth at African universities. Africa will become a player. It wasn't that long ago that India and China were not considered to be serious innovators. Remember when "Made in Japan" used to mean sub-standard and cheap? Things do change and for Africa that change will involve wireless telephony and various forms of Internet connectivity -- tipping point technology.
