Good customer service story
I was trying to tweak some of the settings on our wireless router yesterday afternoon and ran into problems. So I called the Netgear tech support people -- somewhere in India, I'm sure. The poor guy was on the phone with me for over an hour and he couldn't figure things out.

He wanted me to call our ISP for some additional information about settings. So I called Charter Communications. Once I got past the annoying automated voice recognition system that wasn't at all helpful (I repeated over and over again -- "I want to speak to a human" -- and it actually happened.) Donna came on the line and I explained the problem. She couldn't understand why the Netgear people wanted the information they wanted. So she offered to walk me through a process she had for getting routers up -- not specific to Netgear -- but in general. Within 10 minutes she had me up and running -- even though it wasn't her equipment.

Great customer service still happens. And it's much appreciated.
