The abuses so vigorously denied by the Bush administration in the past have now been corroborated by at least 26 witnesses -- employees of the FBI, according to a report released by the agency. Why are we only hearing about this now? Why didn't the FBI personnel act to stop what they saw? If the Bush administration was aware of this information (they were) why did they allow it to continue?
The crazy thing, in addition to the shame that comes to every American because of these human rights abuses, is that it is all so counter-productive. If the US wants to lead in the "war on terrorism" we need to be models of civility and transparency. We will not defeat the terrorists by adopting the values of the terrorists. Why is this so hard to understand?

Dear Brad;
Thanks for ranting about this. It's no longer a red or blue thing, it's a right or wrong thing, lying or truth-telling.
