~ In our world religions class last night we talked about Hinduism. So, any students peeking in here might be interested in the upcoming movie My Friend Ganesha, a story about a boy who becomes friends with the elephant-headed deity Lord Ganesha and how it solves problems in his family. The movie is about to be released in India. (via)
Sounds like they've hijacked the plot from an old Billy Graham movie or two.
~ This morning Linda, our seminary intern at LCG, and I went to a seminar on helping military families cope with deployments -- specifically the re-entry issues that the military people go through after they've been in a war zone. There were three Navy chaplains and an Air Force chaplain presenting. Those guys are sharp -- really sharp.
~ Cheryl spotted an ad in the newspaper for Ocean Vodka -- "100% certified organic." Why, pray tell, would anyone who abuses his body by injesting 40% alcohol/80 proof poison care whether it is "certified organic" or not?
~ The folks at LifeChurch.tv are creating the YouVersion of the Bible, where "associate video, audio, images, text, tags, and links to other websites with any verse or series of verses in the Bible. Each piece of contributed content can be labeled as public or private, so the application can be used both as a personal study tool and a public expression of user-generated commentary. In addition to contributing content, scripture can be organized by assigning user-defined 'tags' to any verse of the Bible."
It's all about you!
~ How to unlock the car door with a tennis ball. I wonder how many kinds of cars this would work on.
~ "Let women give birth to human-animals say Catholic bishops" -- I think something is getting lost in the translation.
