~ True Cubs fans knew it was coming. Besides, if the Cubs ever went all the way and won it, Chicago would go postal and the President would have to send troops in to re-establish order. None of the major companies headquartered there would get any work done for months and the global economy would tank. So it's probably all for the best. The sacrifice of the victimized fans is duly noted -- and on behalf of a grateful nation...There is, however, something magical about the number 100.

~ The latest: parents paying big bucks sending their children to specialty preschools for diversity training -- including language acquisition. Of course, if you choose the right area you can just send your kids outside to play with the neighbors.

Yeah, it's tough to admit it after years in the midwest. I attribute the attitude to the "just-don'g-get-it" factor, even though many Californians and west-caosters come to Chicago, they quickly conform. Oh well!
