Foolishness

Travis Kauffman had much of Guam in a frenzy this morning when he read to his radio audience an "announcement" from the governor's office stating that the governor had by executive order instigated Day Light Savings time for Guam at 12:01 a.m. this morning and that all the clocks should have been set ahead an hour at that time.

IOW, everyone was already late for wherever they were supposed to be this morning.

The problem is that it was too close to reality. That's the kind of thing that government might actually do. People were calling the governor's office for more information. But, of course, when all of this was happening the office was still closed. Apparently, they hadn't received the governor's announcement.

(We don't do DST because we live too close to the Equator and it wouldn't make any difference. There isn't much daylight difference throughout the seasons.)

I changed the colors on the PIBC blog this morning and led with a story about PIBC acquiring the University of Southern California to become our SoCal campus.

Most people pretty quickly figured out what day it is. But there were some students briefly wondering whether they might transfer to the USC campus next semester so they could play basketball.

I'll leave the USC site up for another day or so before returning things to normal.
