HortonOur SoCal day: I walked to Ikea for breakfast... we met with Daisy Ho for lunch at a Vietnamese restaurant in Garden Grove... Kent drove us to the Fuller bookstore so I could find a book for a class I'm teaching in the fall. Unsuccessful with the book but ran into Kurt Frederickson and got to catch up a bit... did Mexican again -- this time at Alerto's in Westminster -- outstanding -- especially the carne asada fries... saw Horton Hears a Who! at the $2 theater in Irvine (I've got to buy the DVD)... reconnected with Baskin Robbins (which we hadn't visited since our January visit to Cairns in Australia)... Sometimes travel isn't so bad -- although the neighbors in the next room at our La Quinta are currently drunk and loud (at least they're not fighting)... We're up at 5:30 a.m. tomorrow to catch a flight to Chicago.
