Colville Andersen has a great set of visually stunning videos that explain in picture how Copenhagen, the bicycle capital of the world, flows. Apparently 36% of the 500,000 people living there ride bikes everyday -- even in the winter! And for some reason Andersen seems proud of the fact that they do it without helmets. ~ link

Russian Orthodox Churches in railway cars -- an interesting use of space and recycling. Now, if these were Russian Orthodox Churches meeting in functioning cars on the rails -- churches that were actually on the move -- that would be real news. ~ link (thx)

Leonard Sweet: "More than one-quarter of all US households now contain only one person. Never before have so many people lived alone." ~ link
