Our California friends at San Andreas Community Covenant Church (SACCC) have been providing some hospitality for the carnival workers who man the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee. (Remember Mark Twain and the Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County?) ~ link

We had a 5.3 earthquake this afternoon -- centered about 60 miles west of Guam under the Philippine Sea. It felt like a bigger jolt than that.

A few clergy types would sell their souls so they could stand on a presidential platform and give a pre-approved PC invocation. I suspect most wouldn't. ~ link

The Roman Catholic Church may be in decline in the US but their global mega-tribe increased by 1.4% from 2006-2007. ~ link

The US-based Charismatic Episcopal Church (think Charismatics who have discovered liturgy) has been splintering over the last few years and several congregations have ended up in the Antiochian Orthodox Church. Here's the latest group, this one in Texas, to move that direction. ~ link

Texas-size crosses are being erected in Houston to help build positive relationships in the community. Well, not exactly. ~ link

In our evangelism and discipleship class we're talking about how missional thinking shapes the way that we approach the communication of the gospel and nurture of faith. I showed the Michael Frost video on what it means to be missional. The students asked me to put it up on the class blog so they can watch it again. So I thought I'd link to it here as well in case someone has not yet seen it.
