Facebook plays role in trans-Atlantic rescue

This is a great story to share the next time someone complains about how useless the government is or how irresponsible kids are or how much of a time waster Facebook is. A 16-year-old girl in Maryland, US figured out that one of her Facebook "friends," a boy in Oxford, England, was suicidal. She called in her parents, who called in the British Embassy, who called in Scotland Yard, who called in the local police in Oxford. Since they didn't know exactly where he lived they had to do some quick detective work. They found the boy who had overdosed and got him to hospital in time. ~ link
