GOOGLE'S CUSTOMIZED NEWS
Google News can now be customized. That is, you can now add modules and arrange them on the page. You can also create modules based upon keywords. So, for example, I have a module about the key word Boydston. Anytime the word Boydston comes up in a news story that story appears in my Boydston module. Very slick.

It's not very far from a customizable news page to a full-fledged portal page like myyahoo or myway. We can't be too far from that.

A few years ago I thought that Microsoft was going to rule the world -- but now I'd put my money on Google (If I had any to invest). They're proving that the future isn't so much about operating systems or the applications -- but in the ability to transcend platforms to search and present information.
