Deplorable!
Paul Mirecki, the University of Kansas professor who enraged Christian conservatives with his comments on creationism and intelligent design theories says that two men who apparently objected to his statements roughed him up.

That's deplorable! No matter how outlandish someone appears to be, or how provocative their statements -- violence or threats of violence are always unacceptable, as are mean-spirited jokes and degrading comments. We treat even the most disagreeable people with respect -- deserved or not. That's a sure sign of a creationist. For we believe that all people are created in the image of God -- and we treat them so.
