TOO NEW?
(Monday) I glanced up at my shelf of Bibles this afternoon and had an epiphany. More than half of my Bibles have the word "new" in their title -- NEW Living Translation, NEW American Standard, NEW King James, NEW Revised Standard, NEW English, NEW International... It's almost as though we're suppose to think that the Bible was written in our times. Perhaps we should be selling an ANCIENT Living Translation, an OLD Standard Version, VENERABLE International Version, or a PRIMITIVE English Bible. New doesn't necessarily mean better. Old suggests stability and authority.
