CHURCH DOGMATICS
(Thursday) CBD has the new paperback collection of Karl Barth's
Church Dogmatics for $280 (At least that is what the catalog that came in the mail today says. It seems to be $300 on the website.). That's less than what I paid for the hardbacks 20 years ago. Even if you're not a "Barthian" (I'm not) his perspective his helpful and his extensive footnotes provide a lot of historical theological background -- worth the price of the books in and of themselves.

Karl Barth was the most influential theologian of the 20th century. Much of the theological work of the last century was done either in reaction to him or to tweak his ideas.
