OUR CAMPERS ESCAPE FIRE
(Friday) We had a group of seven backpackers from Cornerstone up at Ostrander Lake in Yosemite this week. The past couple of days they observed the fires from a distance but woke-up this morning surrounded by smoke. They packed up and hoofed it out, passing streams of incoming fire equipment on the service road to the highway. Tim Wilson has posted his pictures -- including a few which show distant smoke and one of a helicopter scoping water from the lake. I suspect that Dan will eventually have something to add to the story. He was leading the trip.
