NEW FROM DONALD BLOESCH
The final volume of Donald G. Bloesch's Christian Foundations, a theological overview and reflection (I hesitate to use the term "systematic theology" because it's not a tightly woven system) has arrived from Amazon.com.

The Last Things: Resurrection, Judgment, Glory (Intervarsity Press, 2004) covers topics that are most directly related to eschatology -- the day of the Lord, the coming of the kingdom, the return of Christ, the mission to Israel, angelology, banishment of evil powers, the millennial hope, the resurrection of the dead, the interim state (I wish I had had this when I preached on this topic a few months ago), paradise, purgatory, the communion of the saints, predestination, the theology of paradox, the meaning of hell, the glory of heaven, the dawning of hope -- and a whole lot more -- including a bibliography of all of Bloesch's work.

Bloesch is a fairly easy read -- that is his style is very accessible. But it takes me a long time to read him because it takes me a long time to process his contributions. Donald Bloesch is one of the contemporary theologians I have really come to appreciate.
