GREAT DEAL
Cheryl and I are flying to Florida in November for a meeting and some vacation. We "bought" the tickets online last night. Cheryl flys for $5 in fees using my Southwest Rapid Rewards. And my round-trip (Oakland, CA ==> Ft. Lauderdale, FL ==> Oakland) ticket costs $192.90 (including tax, pfc, and security fee). How can they afford to do that? The deal is even sweeter because the Covenant Ministerium picks up my airfare for this meeting. The rental car is $25/day. And the points accumulated on this trip will actually generate another Rapid Rewards round trip ticket. Sometimes it's ALMOST cheaper to travel than to stay at home.
Southwest is one of the few airlines making money these days. And they're my preferred airline. They don't lose my luggage. They're generally on time. The employees are nice to you. And they have great deals.
