DOLPHINS DIVE
Four weeks ago I became a Miami Dolphin fan (moved that direction by Flipper nostalgia and pity on the hurricane-beaten Floridians) and they have not won a game since! The Jets clobbered them today 17-9 -- making this their most catastrophic showing since 1966 (which, by the way, was the peak of the original Flipper show on NBC). I mentioned last week that Dave Wannstedt has asked me to rescind my public support of the team he coaches. However, his offer to get me to shift my allegiance elsewhere was not even in the ballpark of what I would consider. Hopefully, he'll be in a more generous (desperate) mood this week. I expect to hear from him again.
