NOT YOUR FATHER'S RETIREMENT
We first started visiting Green Valley, Arizona when Cheryl's parent's moved there 13 years ago. Today I packed her father up to move him to Turlock. And one of the things I am observing about Green Valley, which is a retirement community south of Tucson, is that the retirees are starting to look a whole lot different than those who came here 13 years ago. The new retires are more buff -- the men have ponytails and earrings. I talked with one guy today about his souped up golf cart (a kit to make it look like a classic Chevy truck) and he was telling me about the stereo system he was about to install in it. The Boomers are starting to show up and they're changing what retirement looks like.
