GREETINGS FROM FLORIDA

We arrived yesterday safely and soundly. One of the great things about being in a new place is that there are different birds to learn. This morning I stepped out of our hotel room and there was a tanager on the walkway. Then I glanced over at the cocoanut tree and there was a woodpecker I haven't had time to identify. And on the ground below the tree was a blue jay (We have scrub jays in Turlock. People sometimes call them blue jays but they're different.)

We drove up the east coast today and saw some spectacular scenery. If I had the money to invest I would buy property in Melbourne or Cocoa Beach. Both are beautiful places with a lot of dumpy old buildings right close to the beach. I can see some major regentrification happening there in the very near future.

There is still a lot of hurricane debris piled up and lots of houses have blue nylon tarps covering the roofs.

Tomorrow we're going to tour the Space Center.
