TRAVEL DAY
Greetings from the Motel 6 in scenic downtown Santa Ana (where our second story room appears to be severely slanted toward one wall and we hear the mariachi music out on the street -- but the price was right). We left Tempe this morning and drove to SoCal to meet up with Kent (our #2 son who is a student at UC Irvine) who returned this afternoon from a springbreak mission trip in Mexico. On the way over we drove by UC Riverside, and since we'd never been on campus there, we did the windshield tour -- very nice campus. And while we were there we noticed signs for a botanical garden sale. I ended up with two plants.

We meet up Kent for dinner and had some great Thai food at a hole-in-the-wall place in Newport Beach.
