THE BRUNT OF KATRINA appears to be hitting just east of New Orleans -- but still doing major damage to the city. Apparently the winds have peeled away part of the roof of the Superdome, where thousands of people are waiting out the storm. They appear to be safe. Link
WWL News no longer seems to be broadcasting on the Internet. It's hard to tell if the station is down or if their server is swamped with people like myself anxious to hear from those in the middle of the storm.
While close to it, this was not the doomsday storm that New Orleans has been drilling for. However, the storm has affected drilling in the Gulf so we can expect high prices at the pump by the end of the week.
REGENT UNIVERSITY will launch a Master of Arts in Strategic Foresight degree in 2006. My friend Dan Pietrzyk, who is finishing up his Doctor of Strategic Leadership at Regent, assures me that in spite of the fact that the university was founded by Pat Robertson it doesn't currently embody his values or reflect his influence.

I know this has been somewhat of a concern in the past, but will this bring google closer to being our new big brother - at least to those who use googlenet?
Would this effectively force other companies to offer free wireless, or will other companies say, if you pay us, we won't blitz you with ads or keep track of your movements.
When will it come to chicago?
