No one says that economics has to make sense. The vending machine is outside of a Save Mart Supermarket in Merced and is featuring their Sunny Select house brand beverages. By the way, when calculated out, the water is about $5.33/gallon -- which makes gasoline look like a bargain. The soda at $2.67/gallon is slightly less expensive than gas -- but not by much.
