Great gift idea
The Brownshirt brought my copy of Ryken's Bible Handbook today. And it is as good as advertised. This is the kind of thing which I will be able to use as a resource for teaching my confirmation preparation classes ("D/C") -- junior high school level. And it's sophisticated enough that adults can use it. It takes literary forms seriously without getting hung up on form criticism. That is, it walks well on that fine line between sophistication and simplicity.
