COKE OR PEPSI?
When US Air and America West merged in September they got stuck with a bunch of really important decisions -- such as, what do we call the new airline? (US Air won out.) And, shall we serve Coke (as did the old US Air) or Pepsi (as did America West)?
So far that one hasn't been worked out. Decisions. Decisions.
BRUCE & KATY DOCKTER
They've added some new pictures and commentary to their blog. I'm thinking that once their year in Oaxaca (Mexico) is over, they're going to have a hard time giving it all up to return to Turlock.
BABY PICTURES
Linea Lanoie has lots of pictures of her new grandson. I can understand why.
BOOKS TO GUAM
Yesterday I shipped another 10 boxes of books to the PIBC library in Guam. They were mostly over-stock from the Family Bible Center in Turlock. Thanks, Ken!

IRS PERSECUTION? OR...
The CT weblog is trying to sort through the inconsistencies in the story about the IRS harassing All Saints Episcopal Church in Pasadena. If nothing else the story is creating a lot of blog traffic -- and it's a distraction from the unraveling of France as we knew it.
HOMESCHOOLERS & NONTRADITIONAL STUDENTS RECRUITED
UC Riverside is recruiting home-schooled students, becoming the first University of California campus to actively seek out such students, university officials said. Link
ATTITUDES TOWARD THE POOR ARE CHANGING
Myrtis Stamps has been feeding homeless men, women, and needy families from her Imperial Beach, California home for 30 years. The Chamber of Commerce once recognized her for her efforts and about 10 years ago the city built a gate to provide access from her backyard to Veterans Park, where those needing food wait.
Now they want her to stop.
Her crime? Storing food in her garage without a health permit. And people are getting tired of the litter that homeless people leave in the park.
Those don't seem like insurmountable obstacles. But I suspect that they will find something else to complain about once she deals with those issues. People are all for the poor getting fed -- as long as it's NIMBY -- and they're invisible.
