ONE REASON I ENJOY AFRICANS SO MUCH
In spite of all of the garbage they put up with they tend to be cheerful and upbeat people. The lead from a story in the Economist says it well:

They may not be the richest, but Africans remain the world's staunchest optimists. An annual survey by Gallup International, a research outfit, shows that, when asked whether this year will be better than last, Africa once again comes out on top. Out of 52,000 people interviewed all over the world, under half believe that things are looking up. But in Africa the proportion is close to 60% -- almost twice as much as in Europe.

Brad, very interesting. The longer I've lived the more I see this.

At RBC ministries we've had an interesting series on, I think it's Rwanda, the highest per capita AIDS hit nation in the world. Suffering there is so acute especially affecting the young and this was seen plainly in the footage we saw.

Yet gathered in a church with no roof, the praises that went out and up with the faces spoke clearly and even jubilantly of a faith that sees beyond this present with a true, living hope that looks forward to a new day to come in Jesus.
