POST-CASTRO ERA
Cuba is trying to prepare itself for the inevitable -- life without Fidel Castro. He turns 80 this year. And as much as people pontificate about implosion or revolution or a counter-revolution -- no one really knows what's going to happen. The transition plans are all pretty iffy.

Now, if Castro had started transferring his power to others 15 years ago -- things might be more predictable. But he has created this climate of unpredictability by holding so tightly onto the reigns of power.
