WALK TO WORK
In a very strategic move for Turlock and the university, Cal State Stanislaus says that it is planning to turn the 10 acres on Geer Road, across the street from campus, into housing for faculty and staff who could not otherwise afford to move into the California housing market. At least some of the housing would be townhomes above stores that are also planned for the site. Residents would be owners of their homes, which they would acquire below market value, and then resell to others associated with the university when they move on.
Very creative.
