Wal-Mart is going green
The world's largest retailer is re-orienting its product lines to include "organic cotton baby clothes to ocean fish caught in ways that don't harm the environment." This shift, which includes hundreds of products, is an attempt to lure more affluent shoppers and to improve Wal-Mart's reputation. But it is also an indicator that green is becoming important enough in society that Wal-Mart thinks it will affect their bottom-line if they don't get onboard. It is a major indicator of social shift -- if indeed the retail giant ends up making major changes in the direction of green. This could be a sign that green is becoming American mainstream.
