State of emergency
The governor has declared a state of emergency for our county. We've had so much rain that the ground is saturated and there are concerns about levees holding. There is another storm that is supposed to hit tomorrow. And if we get a sudden warming in the Sierra Nevada next week it could send melting snow water into the river system rather quickly.

Fortunately for us, Turlock is one of the safer places in the county. We don't have a river -- or even a creek in town. But things could easily get out of hand in our neighboring communities.

When it comes to water, it seems that there is always too much or too little of it.
