...Tropical Storm Durian -- aka 24W -- is about to become Typhoon Durian. It has steered clear of Guam. And we're now having great weather. But it's been interesting to watch how a depression becomes a tropical storm -- and then picks up steam to the point where it is now almost a typhoon. (Typhoons are the same as hurricanes -- regionally specific names for tropical cyclones.) It's interesting as long as we're not in its direct path.

...Church website of the week -- Methodist International Church in Hong Kong. I've been helping Daisy Ho, the local Methodist pastor, with her ordination paper, and she was writing fondly of this congregation where she had been on staff prior to Guam. So I looked it up. Great website -- clean and informative.
